Course Information
Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort, opened in February 1996, is an 18-hole, par 72, links style course. It offers a mountain retreat of serenity and harmony, a concept nurtured and developed under the careful supervision of 5 times British Open Champion, Peter Thompson. His vision was to create an exciting and challenging course for amateur and professional alike whilst still keeping in harmony with the natural scenery and rolling countryside. The course measures a challenging 6,969 yards from blue tees, or 6,389 from white tees. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes, but not all are in play. Signature Hole

“easygolfbooking.com” recommends hole # 4, a challenging par 4 (HCP 1), as a must play hole at Royal Chiang Mai

It is an absolute brute of a hole, playing at 438 yards from the blue tee and uphill all the way. A long and straight 220-250 yards drive is needed to have any chance of knocking your 2nd shot on the green.

For most leisure golfers, the best option is to aim your approach shot short of the green and avoid numerous fairway and green side bunkers. This will leave you with a relatively simple uphill chip to a fairly flat green.

For those fortunate to land the approach shot close to the pin, a rewarding par is up for grab. Any approach shot landed in the sand bunker, may easily end up with a bogey or worst.

It is certainly not a hole for the faint hearted golfers. What ever the outcome, take your time on the green and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view looking back down slope of this challenging par 4.

Come and conquer Royal Chiang Mai’s hole # 4 and enjoy golfing with “easygolfbooking.com”.
